    LITERACY VOLUNTEERS -
HUNTINGTON BEACH LIBRARY

Change Someone's Life
Teach an Adult to Read

One fifth of the adult population of the U.S. cannot read well enough to cope successfully as workers, parents and citizens. More than 200,000 adults in Orange County are functionally illiterate.

Free, confidential, individualized instruction by well-trained volunteers is an effective means of teaching adult nonreaders. Anyone who can speak, read and write English well can be a tutor. The members of Literacy Volunteers - HBPL invite you to join us in helping people improve their lives.
