Volunteer Opportunities at the Library Library Volunteers can:
Be a volunteer at the Central Library, or at one of the four Library Branches located throughout Huntington Beach. Volunteers donate over 32,000 hours annually to the Huntington Beach Public Library System, which equate to over $525,000 in personnel savings, helping us provide excellent library programs and services. Where can volunteers help? Library Branches Just one library employee staffs each of the Library branches. Therefore, an ongoing need exists for volunteers at these special neighborhood libraries to help find materials for patrons, check books in and out, and reshelve materials. Homework assistance and "grandparent" readers are also needed. To volunteer, please contact the branch directly:

Oak View Branch Building Maintenance Volunteers are needed to dust and polish furniture, clean windows, spot clean carpets and provide other general cleaning as needed. Call (714) 375-5033 to volunteer your services. Children's Department Volunteers are needed to clean, straighten and shelve books. Additionally, volunteers provide assistance at weekly storytimes and annual children's programs. Call (714) 375-5107. Circulation Department Positions are available to remove date due stickers, and to clean and shelve returned materials. During the school year, tutors are needed for the after school Homework Club.
